CHALLENGE
With over 2000 transportation companies as its clientele, there was a need for the transport companies to keep track of the tyre conditions of their vehicles. The challenge was facilitate the process of the end user submitting and logging tire pressure and tire tread depth data over third party devices.
SOLUTION
Technical:
An independent, hybrid mobile application was developed which could be connected with third party devices through bluetooth enabled connectivity. This app was designed with different resolutions so that it would be compatible with any device (iOS and Android).
User Experience:
This app enabled the vehicle operators to store the tyre pressure and tyre tread depth data in a local device, which in turn pushed the data to a centralized server when it’s online.
IMPACT
By measuring and storing tyre pressure and its tread depth, this app enables the companies to:
- Determine weights of the load for optimum vehicle utilization.
- Avoid frequent breakdowns.
- Reduce fuel consumption.
- Prolong the life of tyres.
- Improve safety.
All these details are captured and stored conveniently in a mobile system instead of on traditional device like a Pile Driving Analyzer (PDA), providing ready information for benchmarking purposes and future improvements.
